Antonio Buero and Aristotle are very famous writers but they were born different generations. They have something of a difference from literature. Aristotle was born in 384 BC.C. Aristotle was one of the greatest philosophers who ever lived and the first genuine scientist in history. Throughout his life, he wrote more than 300 works, in which he developed all branches of knowledge : physics, metaphysics, ethics, biology, zoology, astronomy, politics.

 He pays great attention to tragedy , which he defines as an imitation of an action of a high and complete character, endowed with a certain length, in a pleasant language full of beauty.

The tragedy is a dramatic genre characterized by the representation of serious and elevated themes that lead its protagonist to a fateful outcome. ... On the other hand, a tragedy can also be an unfortunate situation or an unfortunate event, which can affect both a person or even entire societies.

Aristotle speaks of four kinds of tragedy:

  •                   the complex, "which is in its totality vicissitudes and agnition";
  •                   the pathetic;
  •                   that of character;
  •                   a fourth whose name we do not know

Antonio Buero Vallejo was born in Madrid in 1916 Buero is one of the most important Spanish playwrights of the 20th century. He is a brilliant writer and the most important Spanish playwright of the Spanish Civil War. Throughout his life he has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Cervantes Prize.

Buero is a Spanish playwright whose poetic dramas portray the anguish of modern life such as El tragaluz is a play premiered at the Teatro Bellas Artes in Madrid. The night of October 7, 1967. The work belongs to the stage in which social issues are most important for Spanish authors. The skylight of the house in the story refers to the marginalization of the "losers" of the Civil War. Buero Vallejo was one of the Spanish writers who spoke of the Civil War from the point of view of the defeated.

                               The Characters in the skylight

• Vicente: he is the one who has "caught the victor's train". It has been integrated into the system. He is selfish and opportunistic. You have a slight feeling of guilt. It cannot be said that he is bad, because he regrets his deeds.

• Mario: Vicente's brother, lives a miserable, along with his father and mother.

• The father

 • Mother

 • Encarna: she is Vicente's secretary and maintains a relationship with him, although she is in love with Mario.

• He and She: they are characters from the XXX century. They are scientists or researchers who do an experiment and an audience from that same century is shown.

 The experiment is about observing and trying to understand the people of the 20th century.

  Scientists are amazed at the language used in the twentieth century and speak of the story of Vicente and Mario as "dark."

                                                      Argument

The play talks about the relationships between two brothers, Vicente and Mario, separated after the Civil War. Over the years, Vicente has a good social position and Mario lives a miserable situation, along with his father and mother. In the postwar period, Vicente learned modes of behavior that, as an adult, he uses with cruel efficiency. He is adapted to the system and has "joined the victorious train", but in the end he recognizes the injustice he had to commit in order not to miss that train. Vicente was the only one who was able to get on the victors' train, taking the last provisions of the family, for that fact his sister Elvirita died, provoking the anger and madness of her father. Both brothers are interested in Encarna, who is Vicente's secretary and maintains a relationship with him, although she is in love with Mario. This will further complicate the work. The outcome is open, that is, it allows the reader or the audience to continue reflecting when the work has finished.

At the end of the drama the Father kills Vicente with scissors, after this brief dialogue:

   THE FATHER :

                  Don't get on the train.

  VICENTE: I already did, father.

   THE FATHER: You will not get on the train,

VINCENT :

 Why are you looking at me like that, father? Do you recognize me? (...) No And he doesn't understand it either ... The virita died because of me, father! Because of me! But she doesn't even know who Elvirita was ... Elvirita ... She went ashore. I got on ... And now I'll have to get on that train that never stops ...

 FATHER: No! ... No!

Punishment? Justice?

 The two researchers say, as soon as this action is completed:

 SHE - The world was full of injustice, wars and fear. Active people forgot contemplation, those who contemplated did not know how to act.

 Eu - Today we no longer make those mistakes. An implacable eye looks at us and it is our own eye. The present watches over us; the future will know us, like us who preceded us ...
